Thinking back to September 11th of 2001 brings such sadness but also happiness for me. On that day during the attacks on America, my wife and I saw our first daughter for the first time on a sonogram.  As we watched the images of our daughter being shown, we heard of the first plane that hit the towers.

As we left the doctor’s office, we heard the news of the second plane and at that point everyone knew that America was being attacked. We returned to my in-laws house in Pittsburgh and begin to call family to check on them.

We stood silently in front of the television and watched with disbelief as the Pentagon was hit and flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. Returning home, my wife and I continued to watch the news updates, seeing the towers fall, we thought of the families and all of the sadness.

A day that started with such joy went tragically wrong for so many, we stayed together watching and talking. Not knowing what to expect next as the world that we knew changed forever.

 Times of impact: 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m.
Time the burning towers stood: 56 minutes and 102 minutes.
Time they took to fall: 12 seconds.
2819 dead from 115 different nations.
343 Fireman/paramedics, 23 NYPD, 37 Port Authority officers.
We will always REMEMBER.
Where were you?
